What Will it Cost?
Tuition for the UBC Master of Data Science is comparable and competitive with other professional Masters programs at top domestic and international universities.
All fees are in Canadian dollars (CAD).
- $30,600 CAD for domestic students (Canadian citizens and permanent residents)
- $41,200 CAD for international students
On acceptance into the program, students will be required to pay a $1,000 CAD non-refundable deposit.
In addition to tuition fees, all students must pay:
- $857 CAD approximately per year in UBC student fees, which includes the mandatory transit U-Pass
- $222 CAD per year for the AMS/GSS Extended Health Plan
All new international students must also pay an annual $180 CAD i-Med fee.
Student fees are charged in three equal instalments payable in January, May and September along with your tuition fee.
You must pay your AMS/GSS Extended Health Plan fee in full in January. There are opt-out provisions for students with equivalent personal insurance.
The i-Med fee for new international students is payable in full in January.

If you are a domestic student, you can apply for a federal/provincial student loan. Please complete your loan application as soon as possible after you receive your letter of acceptance, as it typically takes four to five weeks for loan applications to be processed. If you need help completing your student loan application, please visit UBC’s Student Services site for assistance.
Domestic students who receive a federal/provincial student loan, may also apply for a bursary. More information on bursaries will be provided after you receive your conditional offer.
